Beach Management Unit
Homabay County Beach Management Unit Network is at the forefront of transforming fisheries management and fisherfolk development in Homabay County. We unite 145 beach management units, 18 ward BMU networks and 8 sub county BMU networks structures under a common vision of economic prosperity and environmental stewardship.
Delivering international-standard support to beach communities and fishing enterprises
Ensuring orderly, safe and effective use and management of the resource, BMUs and lower BMU networks, conflict mitigation and resolution.
Erradication of IUU landing site cleanups, forestration, enforcement of fisheries laws, wetland restoration, and sustainable fishing certifications.
Strenghthening fisheries management through cooperation, harmonization of guideline and policies, resource mobilization and functional public-private pertnership.
Modern cold storage facilities, accessability, hygienic handling, and quality control meeting local and export standards.
